Resource RoomASHAR's Resource Room is a place for students to develop their skills in their specific areas of deficit. Mrs. Jennah Schuh is the coordinator of the Resource Room and works with students in the elementary and middle school grades in English reading, writing, and comprehension, as well as in math. Mrs. Shifra Horowitz is the Limudei Kodesh resource teacher, and she is the one who conducts push-ins or pull-outs of students in order to help them in their reading, writing, and comprehension of the Hebrew language as well as working on Chumash and general Jewish education subjects.
The Resource Room is laden with professional materials such as assessments, easy readers, math games, manipulatives, and Hebrew resources. Various strategies are taught and reinforced in order to help our struggling students. All students in grades 1-8 are assessed with the DRA reading assessment tool to ascertain their English reading levels. ASHAR's Resource Rom this year has been designated by visiting special educators to be a model for other schools in its classroom environment, techniques, and student progress.
