Bio: Elizabeth Nieves received her undergraduate degree from Purchase College in Humanities. She then went on to receive her Masters degree in Childhood Education from The College of New Rochelle. She is a certified teacher who has worked within the New York City Public School System for several years. Education is truly the key to success for all children. Ms. Nieves is a nurturing and devoted educator and believes that being a teacher means continuing to learn right along with her students and molding their future each day in class. As a teacher she hopes to motivate students in ascertaining their inner strengths and abilities of discovering what truly inspires them.

Through her teaching experiences in both the Bronx and Westchester, she has found the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly effective method of teaching. Teaching English has become a passion for Ms. Nieves. Learning and understanding the proper use of the English language is a skill that students will use throughout their lifetime in building both personal and professional relationships. It is a skill that is never ending and infinitely rewarding at the same time.

She has learned that if students construct their own learning experiences they will not only retain information longer, but they will also become more confident in their abilities. Ms. Nieves loves working with children and will continue to strive to be a positive influence in their lives. Ms. Nieves is very excited about the school year and is looking forward to working with you and your child and helping him/her to achieve his/her full potential.
