Our PTA is an opportunity for parents to become more involved in their child’s school. We encourage every family to volunteer some of their time in service to ASHAR.  Assistance would be most welcome for book fairs, lice checks, after school programs, and the other events we plan to run throughout the year..

The goals of the ASHAR PTA are:

• To encourage parent involvement within our school
• To support and promote chesed projects in our community and Israel.
• To provide fundraising activities, and sponsor parent, student, and family events throughout the year
• To enhance the learning experience of our children

• Deadline - December 1: Please contribute to the ASHAR Cookbook.  Learn more...
   
• September 24: Walk-a-Thon 2008 to raise money for our classroom libraries.   The event "kickoff" will take place on September 10, so look for information packets that will be sent home with your children on that day.
   
• We will be continuing the shiurim for women given by Esther Baila Schwarz.     If you would like to sponsor a shiur in honor of an occasion, in memory of a loved one, etc. please call Atara Kahan, 362-4755. 
   
• Wine Sale: Just in time for Rosh Hashanah and Succot...
   
• Begining September 9: ASHAR Sewing Club
   
• The PTA is currently preparing a Rosh Hashanah Greeting.  To be included, please send a check for $18 (made out to ASHAR PTA) to the office by Sept. 15.  The deadline to RSVP that you wish to be included is Sept. 9. 
   
• Lice checks  will take place the first day of school (in school) for all grades (Sept. 3 for grades 1-8 and Sept. 8 for the preschool students).
   
• Picture Day is scheduled for November 5, 2008.  Retakes are scheduled for December 3, 2008.
